Welcome “Ber” Months

It’s been hard finding time to write lately. Life seems to be a whirlwind some days — even when I get to the end and feel I haven’t done anything. So, I thought I’d take a moment to do so.
Summer is coming to a close, as the “ber” months begin to sneak upon the horizon. Ready or not, here they come! I have mixed emotions about it all. Are you ready? The closer it gets, the more I’m desiring comfort foods. Ugh!
I’ve been on a journey though since the beginning of March. It’s been one which has tested my commitment and perseverance…and my reliance on the Lord. While I’ve heard it said, “If you’re going to do something, do it right”, I also know it’s easier said than done sometimes. Or list of the time!
My husband and I began a new lifestyle journey together to become more healthy. I suppose after a person hits fifty, all the things begin to change and you realize over half your life is probably over — and you kind of want to make adjustments to make the best use of what time you’ve got remaining. This is us!
So, we’ve swapped several bad eating habits and gained some new perspectives. I’ve felt great all summer long. Physically, mentally, emotionally , spiritually…I suppose I can say in every way. I’m giving the Lord all the praise too!
However, the “ber” months are difficult for me and I feel the urge to…I don’t know how to explain it. All I can say is, “Brrr “. If you know me, you probably get it.
I’m going to keep this short and sweet; just an update and a quick hello.
If this coming season is hard for you too, for whatever reason, just know you’re not alone. We’re all in this together, my friend. So, let’s be kind. Extend grace and mercy to those who need it. Offer a smile to someone who seems to be a little “off”. Give an ear to someone who may need someone to listen…even if you’ve already heard similar renditions before. Give the gift of your presence to someone who may be feeling quite lonely. Check on someone who may seems to be extra quiet. Pray for those you know who struggle…because we just might need the favor returned someday — and it’s the right thing to do.
I’m ready for cool weather, fire pits, and my soft, cozy jammies. I’m ready for familiar scents which make me think of traditions and of people I love. I’m anxious to celebrate the birth of our newest grand boy too! And, with all that said, there’s a yearning in my soul to find shelter and peace under my Heavenly Father’s proverbial wings. Yes, sometimes, we just want to be held and He’s always there to do so. What a God, what a God!
God bless you during this “ber” season. May His peace rest upon you and soothe any part of your life which finds you leaking in close at His feet.
“Casting all your care upon him;
for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
Regardless of how we may feel in the coming days and months, we can rest assured God is always there, and He is big enough to carry us through any hard days. There will be joy even if and when tears may fall because His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. He always sees right where we are, and we never need hide anything from Him. What a God! It’s a privilege to be held by the One who holds our entire world in His hands.
God bless you, my friend. We’re gonna see this through together, trusting in the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.
Be blessed~
I wanted to share my health journey progress, brag on God, and give Him the praise for helping me meet and surpass my first goal. I’m down over forty pounds - haven’t see these numbers in twenty years!
