Yes, No, Wait!

“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
Lamentations 3:25
If you’ll remember with me, there’s a verse in the Word of God that mentions there being a time for everything. A time for this, and a time for that. Well, a portion of my prayer times lately has been to thank God for His yeses, noes - and waits.
We all have needs, and some wants too, which we bring to God in prayer. Right? I’m sure you’re thinking of some of yours right now as I suggest it. It’s okay, we all have a list.
I stood to testify in church a few weeks ago about being thankful for the blessings of God. However, more than that, I’m thankful for Him and His faithfulness. Period! It amazes me how He knows what we need and sees us through our situations. Think about it, He knows our needs before we even bring them to Him — and He’s working on our behalf. That’s big stuff!
That’s where the yeses, noes and waits come in. Sometimes we think we need something “right now” yet in His sovereignty, He says no or wait. I’m learning that those answers are just as loving and good for me as the times He says yes. True story!
God sees so much further down the road than we are able to. He knows what we’re going to face today and tomorrow - and ten years or more from now. He knows the best way to teach us to listen to and depend upon Him. He desires to bless us in ways which we will surely know He is at work in every detail of our lives.
We’ve been dipping in and out of the car shopping pool for two or three years now. We finally took the plunge. I now have a reliable vehicle which we can take road trips in and not be stressed about the possibility of breaking down. We have bumper to bumper coverage too!
I’d been looking at a particular vehicle with all the “bells and whistles” on it. However, last year when we finished our shopping spree with without purchasing anything, I felt a nudge deep within to get a Volkswagen or a Subaru. I have absolutely no idea why, except maybe God was preparing me. Neither of these were ever on my radar. Remember, He knows.
I can’t say I was shocked, but the first car we were shown by the salesman was this little 2024 VW Jetta Sport. Newer than I ever anticipated my “new” car to be. It also had only 17K miles on it. I had never shared my “deep down” feeling with my husband until after we had driven the vehicle. He just looked at me and grinned when I did. Turns out, it’s the car my hubby signed on the dotted line for. No, it’s not my dream car, but it is getting 40mpg which is a huge blessing. Oh, and there’s the fact that I feel like I’m driving a go cart sometimes. I can zip right into any parking spot now. Praise the Lord!!!
This was what was reasonable for us now. Last year, it was a “No” for a new vehicle; I probably would’ve splurged for more than was feasible. This year, however, I felt like it was a “Wait” to the bells and whistles but a solid “Yes” to a new vehicle. Can I tell you something more?
I AM PERFECTLY SATISFIED!
Maybe the bells and whistles will come later, but for right now, God knows best. This I know.
Remember, He always knows what’s best! Be on the look out for any yes, no, or wait God might be speaking into your life. I’m sure glad we made the right decision and waited on Him. He is indeed faithful!
Be blessed ~
