“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
James 1:5

This Saturday morning, I find myself sitting in the kids play area of Burger King. The grands spent the night with Noni last night and woke up early. This is the easiest way for my “non-functioning, morning” personality to keep them happy and entertained.
Can someone say, “Gotta Do What Ya Gotta Do!!!”
The great thing is that we’re the ONLY ones in here so it’s a nice, manageable noise level too. Praise the Lord!
I’m enjoying listening to them giggle and squeal with glee as they slide down the spiral slide and then climb back into another tunnel to do it all over again.
So, I spotted my youngest a moment ago attempting to operate the computerized play screen. The sun rays were making it difficult to see the screen, and she’s a wee bit short too. I snapped this pic of her when I saw it. Immediately, the thought came to my mind:
Whatever it takes!
My mind quickly began to put the pieces together and I wanted to share. If only us adults put that much effort into doing the things which feel impossible or hard for us. (Edit: As kids began to filter in, I noticed she wasn’t the only one who tipped the toes to in an effort to see him. It seemed to be a natural child-like reaction.)
We set goals, we give up. We try the latest fad diet, and usually quickly quit. We are promoted to new job positions and sometimes feel we cannot keep up with the new demands. Our kids are “extra” some days and we just want to throw our hands up and go take a nap. We set ourselves up on a budget and it seems we’ll never manage with the amount we’ve given ourselves to live on. The list could go on and on. Feel free to insert your “hard” here!
Sometimes we need to try harder. Then, there are times when we simply need to back up and come up with an additional plan of action. Take a step back and make some adjustments before trying again. Strategize and regroup.
My grand girl was determined to do whatever it took, even squinting through the sunlight and standing in the “tippiest” of tip toes. She made it work!
My friend, we can too! Even if we aren’t able to do it within ourselves and in our own abilities, if we try harder and it still doesn’t come together…there’s a better plan. With God on our side, we can do all things! And, I have good news — He always desires to be involved in our lives. Hard doesn’t scare Him away.
God is the best answer!
And solution! To everything!
He longs for us to depend upon and trust in Him too. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Sometimes that’s all it takes for us to get beyond what seems impossible. We don’t have to try harder after all! Just make a wise choice!
Instead of throwing our hands up in defeat today - or the next time, let’s try throwing them up in complete surrender and trust. Let’s come to the Lord as His child and ask for His help and wisdom to see our way through. Without a doubt, we can be assured that He will do whatever it takes. We need only look at Calvary!
Have a great day! Be blessed ~
