“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak
that we do know, and testify that we have seen:…”
John 3:11
My goodness, what a weekend we had at church. I don’t think I’ve experienced the power of God in a more undeniable way in my lifetime than we did yesterday. My body is sore from leaping and expressing myself in praise unto the Lord, but my spirit is still soaring.
Hear all about it: Sore, but Soaring!
The goodness of God is always all around us, I’ll be the first to admit it goes unnoticed at times however because of the cares of life we get wrapped up in. Shame on us! (At least me!) I get so wrapped up in life at times that I fail to notice specific times when He’s trying to get my attention with His goodness. God is Sovereign and is always looking for opportunities to insert Himself into our days. Can I get a witness?!
Our church service began as so many others have, then…I’m not sure what exactly happened following the anointed, preached Word about Palm Sunday delivered by our Pastor, except that the Word was eagerly received — and with great acceptance.
From my viewpoint: the altar began to fill up, some fell on their knees while others lifted their hands in the air in surrender and repentance. Tears flowed, as hearts were met with the love and forgiveness of a God whom wrapped Himself in flesh and came to save us from our sins. (Matthew 1:21) The Holy Ghost was poured out just as it was on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2. It was absolutely beautiful! Backsliders wept and fell at the altar in repentance and were met by a loving, forgiving God, who is filling grace and mercy. Welcome home prodigal!
Angels rejoiced in Heaven, and so did we! (Luke 15:10) It was absolutely glorious.
A young man, newly sober for seven days, ran enthusiastically across the church jumping and leaping, screaming to the top of his lungs, “I am forever changed!” I’ve never witnessed the height of passionate testifying and spiritual proclamation as I did yesterday. He and his friends had even walked to church that morning! It had taken them 38 minutes to get to church and they didn’t go home the same. Talk about hunger and thirst! (Matthew 5:6)
There were baptisms where people went down in Jesus name (Acts 19:5) and came up as new creations. Chains of addiction were broken, people reconsecrated their lives, and people were healed — including my son, who had been in much pain in the emergency room that very morning. He was diagnosed with kidney stones! Still no pain today, praise the Lord!
I cannot tell you all the things which happened because we’re still learning more and more as we talk about it and things unfold, but GOD MOVED.
There is church, and then there is REAL church, the kind where you come expecting and leave changed. I wouldn’t want to go to any other kind! God desires to change hearts and lives, He simply stands at our heart’s door and knocks. He’s a gentleman and won’t push His way in, He desires us to CHOOSE Him. Are we too busy and overwhelmed with life to acknowledge Him and open the door to give Him a chance?
I believe in God. I believe in the Bible as His inspired Word to us. I believe He died and rose again for my salvation (and yours!), and I believe He is coming again - SOON. I believe He desires for us to believe on Him, but to believe and follow His plan preached by the disciples on the day of Pentecost and beyond when the people standing around we’re amazed and awed asking, “What shall we do?” (Acts 2:37) Read it for yourself in the very next verse following the question.
I encourage you to find a church where you can experience this. Don’t just take it from a newspaper headline or a blog post, experience it for yourself. Don’t go to a dead church where nothing exciting ever happens. Miracles, signs and wonders do still happen. Jesus is not dead, so don’t go to a dead church! Do more than just “go to church” to fulfill a weekly duty, be part of the church. There’s a huge difference.
Well, there you have it, friend. God is real, and church should be explosive, not cold and mandatory. Don’t go to a boring church! You won’t be disappointed when you experience God the Bible way.
I’ve been to CHURCH and it’s real, Jesus is still alive and doing miracles, signs and wonders!
O, taste and see! It’s our choice, will we be satisfied to hear about it in a newspaper or through a blog post, or do we want to experience life-changing, supernatural experiences ourselves and have our own testimony to tell?
Take it from me, I have heard and have seen the miraculous of God!
Be blessed~
