Because He Lives

Easter has come and gone. All the ham, pasta salad, rolls and dessert have been eaten. Plastic eggs have been opened by children and thrown to the side - chocolate bunnies eaten. Most of the decorations are put away…

BUT,

because Jesus resurrected, giving us the option of living this life right, we have faced yet another day.

Hallelujah! He is alive!

Our Easter was lovely. Church was amazing! Everyone was dressed beautifully and the Spirit of God moved as we worshipped our risen Savior. That’s where we get our strength from: giving Him the praise and gathering together with our church family. I’m so thankful Jesus is alive and we can come together and worship Him often.

Because He lives.

God is faithful and knows exactly what we need each day, which is why I’m so glad the tomb is empty.

We had a lovely afternoon with family and friends who gathered together with us for lunch, then even more people came afterward and we visited and played games until evening when we finished off sitting around a fire pit before everyone went home. It was great!

God has given us family…which is growing. Our newest addition arrives in September. He’s also blessed us with some new extended family…and it keeps on growing too. We treat them like our own and they call us Pops and Mama. They came to the house Sunday bringing me flowers and their sweet smiles. Our Bible study kiddos. We are so thankful and proud of each of them and the strides they are making each and every day.

Because He lives…and is still saving people from their sins. Praise the Lord!

Today, after the Easter celebration has ended, my heart is still rejoicing and relishing in the joy which only Jesus can give. I’m so grateful He has ways of blessing us beyond our wildest dreams, and taking brokenness and transforming it into beauty. I never thought my life would ever be this full again, but in October I began asking the Lord for a restart. I needed some drastic change in my life, and He sure hasn’t let me down. He makes all things new, Jesus NEVER fails! He gives to us blessings — pressed down, shaking together, and running over. I can truly say that my cup overflows.

No, I haven’t always been able to say that…but I can today. I’m beyond thankful for God’s many blessings, He works all things together for good, in His time. We just have to be willing to wait, and change if necessary. I’m so thankful that even on the sad days I still face, that I know one day it will be no more.

Because He lives!

If I could say anything to you today, I’d tell you not to give up on hope in God. Don’t lose your trust and confidence in the only One who can bring forth beauty from ashes. Don’t give up on being fulfilled and smiling again. He can turn your life around too. It might look different than what you were expecting, but He always does things right.

We all have a story to tell, with the good and the ugly, but there is more beyond without a doubt. If you stop and think about it — we sure don’t look like what we’ve been through, thank the Lord.

BECAUSE HE LIVES!!!
